Why do drs always want to biopsy these? Is there a chance they can be precancerous?

I found out about my breast calcifications 5 years ago and the specialist said it is a pretty good change I will end up with breast cancer. I have since had to go for yearly mammograms. Well my most recent has showed more and a change so I am now schedule for an ultrasound.

I have read they don't always turn cancerous but from what the specialist told me many do.

My biopsy is 9/28 at 7 am. They said to bring someone but why? They will not put me to sleep.

Leeall. I dont take tamoxfin but I do take anastrozole and I must side the side effects are too bad, It made me a little sick in the beginning but that was the worst. I didnt lose my hair either, The worse thing so far that I can live with is it might make my bones a little bit thinner, and my nails break easy lol.. I chose not to have chemo but I did have radiation also, but I had the breast balloon radiation 2x a day for 5 days. I was lucky with that.
