I am 35 and have had my condition for a year I was told last year on my birthday that I might have breast cancer but since then due to my disability noone has been able to help me get the medical treatment i need so after months complaining about my breast pain both and bleeding etc I am to get my ultrasound and biosy on thursday

I go for yearly mammograms, and I went for what I "Thought" would be a routine mammogram, until they called me back for more pictures and an ultrasound. I then found out I had stage 1 breast cancer, no lymph node involvement. I had a partial hysterectomy and 6 weeks of radiation. I am now on 5 years of tamoxifen (Which sucks) I hope your appointment goes well. I have always been great about going for mammograms. My father had breast cancer so they sent me early. It's the Gynecologist I HATE to go to. UGH.

I just got the news on my biopsy that mine is DCIS from my first mamogram which I foolishly waited to get until I was 54. I guess we both will find out more on tuesday what our options are. I wish you all my best on your visit and hopefully we can share stories after.

Hi, I'm pretty new here.. I have a question for "Respectful." It was Reply #2. I was reading your message about the Stage 1 cancer, and I'm very sorry to hear that... But I'd like to know, mostly out of curiosity, why you had to get any kind of hysterectomy, if it was your breast? I don't know how the two are connected, although they must be in some way...??... I hope you're feeling better now.. I just got my mammogram and they found something. I went back for an ultrasound and thank goodness it was just a cyst. But I was scared and worked up.. It's a scary thought, and I honestly wouldn't know how to feel if I were going through it! All of the women here seem to have so much strength!!! That's' great. Take care, all.

Hi! I am also new to this site as of about 10 minutes ago. I am also new to the diagnosis of breast cancer. I found a lump in my upper left breast area 10 days ago. Since then I have had a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy this past Tuesday. Just found out yesterday that my results showed invasive ductal carcinoma. Next week I will have an MRI and see a surgeon. Not sure of anything more at this point, but I am glad this site is here and welcome any words of advice or encouragement. Thank you all for listening!

Hi Suzy, I never got a hysterctomy. I just would "Rather" Go for Mammograms than go for Pap Tests! :) They are very painful for me.

Edit: Suzy--That was meant to say "Partial "LUMPectomy". :)

Thanks for clarifying that respectful. I was wondering about the hysterectomy myself.

Bfcavender I wanted to check in and see how you were doing and how your appointment went? Maybe I have missed seeing a story on here but I was thinking about you.

Lucyfan hang in there. I hope all goes well for you. Hopefully you have caught it early and I am sure you are getting the best treatment there is. This site has been really great for me and I have gotten alot of information and support.

I am really feeling the need to to keep reminding everyone to not wait on getting those mammograms we need to do them on time so we can catch this early if it shows up.
