My stbx's father physically abused his mother for years. They divorced when stbx was in High School. STBX worked 2 jobs & went to school to support his Mom & Sister in a little apartment. STBX was estranged from his family for years; especially his Dad. Then Mom remarried Dad. The first thing I told stbx when he talked about us splitting-up was "Don't count on me to be like your Mom. When this is done; it's done for good!" I meant it then. I mean it now. I will NEVER take him back.

Ex's parents have been married for 40+ years. Not a very good marriage though but his mom would NEVER consider getting a divorce.

BTW, my Mom & Dad raised 8 children & were married for more than 50 years. They died within 18 months of each other. I know where they are now, together! STBX's father died years ago but his Mom is still alive. I don't know what's in store for them for eternity.

parents stayed married till death took one. ex's 3 siblings all cheated then all divorced. 2 have remarried. My ex thinks it is ok that he is doing the same.

My STBX's parents were married over 30+ years. My FIL passed away almost 3 years ago and my MIL has not even thought about dating. She still wears her wedding rings.

We are the first divorce, on both sides of the family.

My stbx's parents were married almost 50 years. His dad cheated on his mom for almost the entire marriage and his mom looked the other way. Hmmm maybe gave stbx the idea that cheating is ok. His sisters are both happily married for 25+ years. Go figure.

Oh, his mom passed away and his dad immediately married a 41 yr old woman from venezuela (he is around 73) who is taking care of him and spending his money freely.

My stbx's parents have been married 35 years. He has an older sister who was divorced and has since remarried.

My dad died 30 years ago. Mom never remarried (never even went on a date). She died 6 years ago. My youngest sister was married (and pregnant) at 18. (she's 40 now) Her baby died at 3 months and she divorced him about a year later. She just got engaged in July.

My STBX's mom is remarried, his Dad, I think got remarried once, but he is now deceased.

Ex's father cheated on his mother, and has been with the "OW" who was later his wife for 3 years, they've been separated, divorced, and they've lived apart, but always get back together. They are divorced but live together currently.

His mom has been married 6x! This last time has been for about a year now.

My mom never married my bio dad, but has been w/my dad for 20 years.

oops x's dad and ow together 23 years and my mom has been w/my step dad 20 years.

My parents have been married for 36 years and were high school sweethearts. My stbx's parents have each been married 3 times , his mom is still married to husband #3 for 20 years or so , his dad has never remarried after his mom. He told me that was the biggest mistake of his life was leaving her and his kids but he obviously didnt teach his son that.

Well my STBX'x parents stayed married but his dad cheasted on his mom and was abussive for thier whole marriage she tells me stories out of her demented daze about catching him pouring kerosene on his teapot to kill the crabs. Plus his sister and brother are both still marriaed even though the brother used to drink and beat his wife and she actually walked him eating out another woman. Then there is his sister who husband cheated on her most of thier marriage and used to beat her to a pulp so I guess I should be impressed he isn't worse. My parents are still married but both of my brothers got divorced last year. one cheated on his wife and one's wife cheated on him

I'm seeing a pattern here...most of our ex's families are either divorced or exhibited the same or at least similar behavior as our ex's or stbx's...interesting!!! And they say environment has nothing to do with it!!
