Enigma-I posted something similar in another forum, when my dad became ill, I read the forum for his disease voraciously. I couldn't bring myself to post there, but seeing people with that, as well as their families and friends just....helping means an awful lot.

I tend not to get into detail regarding my turmoils, but it eases my mind when I can focus on something else.

There's a saying .....if we could all put our problems into a pile, we would be happy to take our own problems back once we see everyone else's..... This is what I'm doing here.

And no, I don't have the biggest heart. I'm selfish and self-absorbed.

I agree with the original post. Everyone here is a treasure. A couple of weeks ago, I posted my story, and everyone was beyond supportive. I have been feeling relief and comfort since then. I still have my flashbacks, but they are nowhere as bad as they used to be.

oh there are assholes here too, don't get me wrong.....but generally, everyone is a bit kinder than in the real world.

It is truly a pleasure. I'm helping because I was helped. That is what makes recovery come full circle.

I mostly lurk too - but it does give me perspective and often, a needed whack aside the head as I continue to navigate the past few years.
