i graduated with good grades from LPN school and also got my associates degree in general studies.
i learned that there are worse things than being alone
i faced my fear of public speaking
i have learned to love me and be more gentle with myself
i removed toxic relationships out of my life
i have started/continued to cultivate old and new friendships
i have remembered that i have not gotten here alone, and even in that, those that have helped me get here i dont owe my life to - just my happiness and appreciation. (huge one for me)
i am more open to receiving love in general. and i have received it in abundance.
i am exercising more.
for 2012, i am already planning a huge 40th birthday blowout. hopefully i will be travelling or in the process of it. i want to be in north carolina with my sweet friends, be working towards or in RN school, enjoying my job as an LPN, continuing to exercise and make sure i am compassionate with myself and others.
xoxo
it doesn't get any easier than what i have now.
now, i need to add a social life of some sort. that is the big component that is missing. plus, this year i will be doing a lot of fishing, boating, and bicycle riding. i might dabble in acrylic painting a bit.
as for dating, i will keep an eye out.
@iloverufus: congrats on graduating. :) that is a major accomplishment.
I've finally gotten on a plane, after 14 years of being terrified. That was huge.
I spent a full year in New York City. One full year. I hope to stay through 2012 as well, circumstances willing.
I'm managing my emotions much more successfully these days, and things have improved greatly.
Mostly, I've brought my faith back up to the surface, and know to be grateful to God for all that I have, and ask for strength in being all I can be.
I have a long way to go..but 2011 has proven to show me how far I've come.
Happy New Year, hon!
Magnificent! You are an inspiration
-Oct 2010, I became suspicious of a possible affair
-Nov and Dec 2010, I still held the suspicion but I think out of fear of the truth, I ignored things
-Jan-March 2011, things got worse and worse. I began investigating to find out the horrible truth
-March 2011, I joined DS and found good support
-April 3, 2011, after collecting enough evidence, I confronted the cheater and he confessed
-April 4, 2011, I told him I wanted a divorce
-April 15-I graduated college with my assoc in law degree. Top of my class with honors. I felt very proud of myself. Two weeks later I returned to school to begin working on my Ba in criminal justice
-May 1, 2011-the cheater officially moves out
-May 23-I file the divorce papers
-June 6-the divorce is final
-June 2011 to today-life has been one day at a time. I have good days, I have had bad days. I am moving on one day at a time. Some days I feel very impatient because I just want what I want. I've learned a lot about myself. I've learned where I went wrong, I learned where I was right after all. I've accepted that it is what it is. You can't change anyone, you can't make anyone love you. I've also learned that I am good enough and I have gained more self esteem and more confidence that I have had in many years.
I now know that someday when love finds me again, whoever the lucky guy is to win my heart, will be the getting himself one heckuva good lady.
And Namaste, those are great accomplishments, certainly something to be very proud of. Bravo!
