I have finally moved on from my 5 year toxic and abusive relationship. 3 months after a bad breakup I met a beautiful person unexpectedly. I am insanely happy with my new lover and his love for me is reciprocated. We have spent every weekend together since we met.
Now here's the problem:
I am 33 and he is 22. His parents do not approve. I need advice on what to say to his parents when I meet them.
Here's a little more on our history. We have been together for 5 months. I didn't go in search for a younger man. I met him at a charity event and he looked much older than I thought. We hit off immediately. We never ran out of things to talk about and hung out for rest of the night. At the end of the night, I find out he's 22 and I was very disappointed. We remain friends but that was short lived as there was unbelievable chemistry that was hard to control after 1 month. He and I have finally gotten over the age difference at this point. We believe we compliment each other with the fact that he's an old soul and I'm free spirited and young at heart.
Fast forward to the issue at hand: He still lives with his parents. He's finishing up his last year in college which he pays for himself from the 2 jobs that he is working currently. I am switching careers, no children/never married and starting over after a toxic 5 year relationship and finishing my last year in school as well. His parents have not met me yet and have voiced their disapproval to him on several occasions. They think he needs to be with someone his age in order to have a healthy relationship. He's implied to me that maybe if they met me and got to know me, it would change their views.
I would do anything to relieve some of the stress that his parents are giving him and just for him/us to be happy. I know he would do the same for me. His father has asked him many times, what is she doing with a 22 year old? Can somebody provide me with some insight or inspiration as to how handle or what I'm going to say to the questions that they will bombard me with when I eventually meet them?

As a younger partner of a women, of only 4 years, I can tell you the age gap can be very difficult. You will always be more experienced in all ways. This can be very demasculating.
If you choose to have children it will be before he is ready and you will prevent him being able to grow and develop in other ways.
I am not trying to Ben cruel or unkind. I am just explaining that though these things don’t seem like problems now. They very well maybe in the future.
Enjoy each other’s company. Have great sex. But don’t plan on a long commitment

It’s funny ...him and I look back on those days and laugh about our age debacle because it’s nothing compared our feisty toddler, sleep deprivation and never ending home projects. I’m 38 now and he’s 27 and most times I feel like he’s much more mature than I. I think he’s quite the acception.
I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
