Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
People lie for many reasons...codependents lie a lot, thinking they're saving the other person harm when, in reality, they're causing more pain...and yes, that's a gender neutral issue too.
A for effort on the guy who said it was cuz he was gay...lol j/k btw
I've often believed I was the Plan B--he wanted to run around and screw other women, but didn't want the financial fallout of divorce. He also ran after women with "problems" and they typically don't bring home big fat paychecks--I worked (even with clinical depression) and brought home a nice paycheck that paid for his toys and vacations. He used me.
How I wish he would have come up with something as creative as "I am gay"--at least I wouldn't have wasted all these years with him, thinking he loved me when he didn't.
But he continues to lie today--to others, to his family, but most of all, to himself. These liars are pathetic creatures, worthy of our scorn, and perhaps, our pity, but certainly not worth any more of our time.
Sending healing hugs!
wonder why I'm so screwed up?
There was an article about this very thing recently on yahoo. It said that men and women actually have different reasons. I can't remember what the woman's reasons were but for the men it said that they will stay in a relationship they know is over out of a sense of duty, honor, or responsibility. So they they lie, lie, lie because they think it's more dutiful to stay rather than just give it to us straight.
Either way, regardless of the reasons I think it's very cowardly for either sex to do this. After everything we all put into our relationships it would be nice if they could just say, " You're not the one, I've outgrown us, I'm outta here, good luck with things!" But I wonder if we'd all be left with the same hurt and questions regardless? :(
