Forgot this one:
My X mother in law also interjected her advice when our marriage was in trouble. She told me what I was doing wrong too, which was being too controlling especially of not liking him visiting them---wtf! who would want her husband to visit someone who threatens to sue them!??? I listened until I had enough then I told her off because she knew he was cheating and I told her that is what she needed to focus on what was wrong in the marriage.

what did they do to land u in the hospital? I think that would be worse.
My X MIL let us choose a Prenatal/Women's Health DR who was the same DR who they complained against and then after the baby was born after the Dr used the vaccuum sucksion so much, she told me that was a bad DR and the whole legal story. The back of her head was so full of fluid from the vaccuum, it felt like a bag of water. She is ok and normal now, but I am still watching my child for signs of problems.

you're lucky you didn't marry him. Although you still have to dispose of the property with all the same crap of a divorce.

I heard about a month ago my ex's mother, same mother that was so intent on giving me that speech, cheated on her husband with a man that is also involved in the church. I so wanted to call her up and return the favor. I didnt, but boy I sure wanted too. I have little tolerance for hypocrites.
I ended up with a hospitalization with severe eating disorders(suicide attempt)....my MIL tells everyone I am in the hospital having a vacation on my stbx.MIL forced me to eat while in the throws of anerexia...turning me bulemic.Takes a legal pad totally filled to the hospital to the drs to tell them all the things I was doing to screw up the whole family.I wasn't allowed to defend myself as stbx was never home...always at work.
This is only some things that were done.
Well, my EX MIL was a raging alcoholic! My STBX said that she was an alcoholic and drug abuser. She had only one tooth and was pretty much down on her luck...
SO I walk into this relationship with this woman(MIL) in my Ex's life. No problem because she moved to Montana with her ex boyfriend that married another woman behind her back. Then she moved up to Montana to harass him but it backfired. She then proceeded to call my STBX for days until she would help her out. Since I recently joined the family, I thought I would volunteer to fly up and drive her back to California to live with us for a month until she got on her feet. (this is my codependancy part)
So after my MIL graceously thanked me several times for doing this for her, I simply asked her to be ready when I make the trip up there. I should have known from this simple request that this was going to be a nightmare more then I could handle. When I arrived to her house, giving her two hours of a extra head start time to be MORE ready. I arrived and nothing had been started. Which got me pissed, so I called my STBX and told her that her mom wasn't even close to being ready. So instead of taking about an hour to load and go...it took 5 hours. Meanwhile, my MIL exboyfriend came home and starting in on her. I didn't want anything to do with it but get her loaded and back home. So we did, and left. So we traveled back to California where the nightmare continued.
She lived with us for 33 days. That is all that my STBX and I could handle. In those days, she did nothing but drink her Social Security Checks away. Proceeded to harass my STBX kids, and then me because I wouldn't do anything to help her. I did, but she wanted me to do them so she could sleep all day and drink all night. It took her boiling some eggs on the stove and passing out and almost burning down the house that made me say..no more..she is gone.
Once she found out that she was kicked out. She tried to find another relative to live with to help her out. She proceeded to get kicked out of several houses until she was completely homeless. To top it off, her Social Security checks keep coming to my house. I told her several times that she needs to change the address, if not. Then I was going to return it to sender. She didn't and after the third month of getting her check...I wrote on that check..."RETURN TO SENDER" and videotaped me dropping it in the mailbox at the end of the street. That day, she came by looking for her check. I told her that I put it in the mailbox at the end of the street. I reminded her that she was warned to change the address, but neglected too. So the next day, I get a knock on the door at 9am. It was the police with her in the background asking about the check. I told the officer that I put it in the mailbox at the end of the street. I let him in the house and showed him the proof on my laptop. He said that is all he needed and told my MIL the bad news that she didn't believe from the day before. Later that day, I went over to the store to get some groceries for my family. When I saw this very familiar person sitting on the sidewalk with a cardboard sign..."WILL WORK FOR FOOD" YUP...it was MIL. I never thought I would have a relative or married relative that would be one of those people...well I did.
To shorten this up...it ended with her harassing me about 10 times a day on the phone about me screwing around with everybody in town, taking money from my STBX, etc...Nothing from the truth. So I got a restraining order against her and we moved, changed our phone number, etc. RELIEF Finally..until all of this caused a rif in my relationship with my STBX which caused her to dump me too. All of the stuff I did for her, her mother and her kids. And this is the thanks I get...WHATEVER!!!
Agree with the other posters, good riddance.
