Who do you talk to when you have no one?
I've lost everyone and everything. I'm not exaggerating. I live by myself in foreign country now, working. Trying to keep myself occupied, trying to forget. The last time I posted on here I was just told to, "get help." What's the point of even being on here then? I haven't posted since around May because of those comments. Why is the world so ugly? Why do terrible things happen to good people? Because we care? How do you not care anymore then...

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

I don't know how long you've been without anyone, Or how long you have been where you are. Ive never been a situation like that before, But I can imagine, Is not having anyone to talk with must be lonely. I gather you haven't found anyone at work, to talk with yet. Is there a library or some place where you can go to see about groups, clubs, or some short fun evening classes? I joined the garden club when I moved to a new town. I met my best friend there. Is there a bulletin board at the grocery store? Believe it or not, I'm the type if person that finds it hard to go out and meet people. I'm not the go out "clubbing" type. I met my husband (of 27 years) at the job I was working at, at the time. And now, I believe I'll be getting divorced within the next 6months, So I'll have to start over again at that point. So I'll also be needing places to find people and things to do. I'm currently on disability, so no jobs.
But in the mean time you do have people here. I just joined 4-5 days ago, and I find it comforting to know i can come here and talk to people who understand what im going through. I find it hard to talk to people about what's going on with me when they really can't relate. It's like trying to explain what a migraine feels like to someone who's never had one. They think it's just like having a real bad headache. Friend/Message me if you like. I'm here. Hugs
sjs777: This is exactly what I'm going through. Thank you for empathizing.
Oldbiker: Thank you for offering a direct message. I will definitely take you up on that. It speaks volumes coming from a stranger.
Imlosingit: Thank you as well for the personal message. I live in Japan as a teacher. There isn't really much room for intimate relationships at work. Also, I live in the countryside, no local groups or anything like what you speak of. I could travel to the nearby city (only an hour away), I should try and put more effort into that maybe with some expat sites (maybe on reddit). I will admit, I do have one guy friend that I talk to back home. But its because he wants to sleep with me... its always been like that. I just want genuine friends.
To all: I've been going through this for months. I'm a lesbian, married. Last march, I was selected for a prestigious program through my university to study a social injustice issue in South America. While I was away, my wife found another woman. I stayed, thinking she would come to her senses. She became an alcoholic, and then abusive. I still stayed. It got worst. I fought for us harder. (This went on for a year). In November I got the job offer for Japan to start the following March. I still stayed, hoping I could bring her with me and we could just start over. She fractured my wrist. I had to call the police. I moved to Japan 3 weeks after the incident with one arm. Family and friends, all gone. She lied to everyone and said I had been abusive. That or they were burned out from my issues. I deleted all of my social media. Changed my phone number. On top of that, my face atrophied significantly. When it rains it pours, I guess. Sometimes I just stare at my phone, hoping someone will talk to me. Thank you all for listening.
