Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. I have just realized that for some reason I tend to attract very independent women. While this isn't totally a bad thing, a lot of these women are almost too independent. What I mean by this is that they try very hard not to let me do anything at all for them. They would rather fall on their butt then ask for a boost.
Some of these women are looking for nothing more than dating. My ultimate goal is to find a good match and be in a good relationship again. I am not in a hurry to do this and I want this to be with the right person, but it is almost as if I am attracting the wrong kind of people.
I can't figure out why this is happening. It may be a product of today's society where women teach themselves to be ultra independent.
I think that the independence isn't a bad thing...but throw me a bone once in a while if you like me and let me do some small task to make me feel important. Most guys try to be problem solvers and I am no different. If you aren't feeling good, let me bring you some chicken noodle soup, at least! LOL.
Any thoughts on this?

When I do meet the guys that are the opposite and are "perfect" they lose intrest because they found the "barbie doll" they have been looking for.
That's okay, the one that has to fall for me now, has to love me for me, for I have lost all that I had in my divorce. I will have stuff again, for I am not afraid to work for it.
But Heave I think it is a give and take in a relationship. It is nice to have someone there to help you and also admire that you can take care of yourself. You will find that match...just keep your options open.

I always attract emotionally stunted men that still want to stay home all day and play video games while I earn the money and take care of the kids. Guess I have the mom syndrome. Don't get me wrong, like you, I enjoy doing nice things for the person I care about. I just don't want to be taken advantage of. Which seems to be a trend in my life.
I am not sure why so many people have to look at life as black and white. There are so many shades of grey. It is okay to be an independant man/woman and still let someone take care of you. Keep your heart open the woman you are looking for is out there.
