Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
For bad advice i was told to meet women go to the produce section of the grocery store and to meet men hang out in Lowes or Home Depot. Now this to me seems creepy and desperate lol
you have to get in his head and imagine where the few social men would be. there are so many different kinds of men that the range of places is very wide.
I always hear about things happening (the really good relationships) by chance. They met at a wedding or met at a counseling group, or a friend introduced us.
I have done the online route and I think it's a lot of sifting through chaff to find the wheat (the other way around doesn't sound right in this context). If you are not willing to put in the time and work (and have a thick skin to boot), then the online dating scene isn't for you.
I find it ironic that you think the men have it easier, when I am sure we three would say it's the opposite. The grass is always greener....
My current wife found me online. If your self-esteem isn't up to it, online dating can be very frustrating and upsetting. i am sure it has even gotten worse in the years since i have done it.
I think the best advice is to not go looking for it. When you are ready, it will certainly find you. The key word here is ready.
Everywhere I go, I see men with their wives. :) So, I figure I have better odds online.
Good luck, Rose. There are some good dating sites and some really bad ones. I hope I'm on a GOOD one...lol.
It's a lot better venue because you can show up at something you like and then see if you are attracted to anybody. With online dating, you can spend a lot of time getting to know someone and then you meet but there's no chemistry.
I don't specifically attend looking for potential dates, but just to get out, socialize and do something I enjoy. If I happen to meet someone and it clicks, all the better.
I've enjoyed the groups and people, especially Outdoor Adventures. Very large and active group here in CNY.
So I pose the same question: Where the hell are all the decent women and are there any left?

Great, we're the same age. I was hoping that it wouldn't be too bad in our age group. I haven't dated in about 10 years.
Way to uplift and spread hope! ;)
Honestly they are out there, if your looking you will have to look hard and don't settle for less than your worth - I feel its the major reason we are all on this board.
Here are some "hot spots" to uplift you more!
If you dont mind kids - check out chucky cheese - a lot of single moms there - I know the pizza sucks and its kind of sick to go to chucky cheese to pick up a woman but that's where they are hanging out!
Also grocery stores, churches (yuk), volunteer events, bars (yuk), on line dating sites (eh), parks, etc. My grandson (I was very young) is a girl magnet, so if you got a cute nephew or niece (2-4 yo) take them to a park. Better than a puppy!
Meetup.com is a great way to get out there and meet people.
Ladies - were out there looking - just smile ans say hi
Men - they are out there looking - just smile and say hi
I know this isn't a dating site nor meant to be used as such.
We are / have all been looking for something though and I cant stress enough that if your not happy with and love yourself you will only repeat the same mistakes that brought you here.
If you do try online just be careful and take it slow. most important be honest it wont pay not to anyways
good luck ;o)
Just revel in the idea for a little while before deciding to do anything.
Bingo! Late one night my xgf called me, crying her eyes out and telling me she hates her life and I was the only good thing in it. She has three wonderful 11 year old triplet boys, a very nice 2500 square foot house totally paid for, good friends, close family, etc...
Yet all she did was complain about almost every aspect of her life. She was looking for me to make her happy, and frankly it just wasn't possible and emotionally draining to boot. I just couldn't live up to the pedestal she put me on. I put my pants on one leg at a time.
