Does anyone feel that they no longer belong anywhere, or don't know where they belong? Does anyone ever feel scared that they don't know if they'll ever feel a sense of belonging since the beginning of the "new normal"?

I only belong in my bed. My husband left 13 weeks ago today. We are on holiday break and my boys are so silent. I don't belong anywhere.

Yes, that's exactly how I feel. I don't know where I belong now. I agree with Basnime, I belong in my bed. Nothing matters, nothing feels good. Food has no taste, not satisfying. The only feeling that rings true is pain and loneliness.

Yes, I feel like that too! I focused all my time/energy on my family so lost touch with most of my friends. My father has now passed away and my mother is in a nursing home following a stroke. I have 2 brothers that work all the time and my 3 kids.....no adults to spend time with/talk to. It is very lonely (although I was alone most of the time in my marriage and very lonely too) and uncomfortable.....sometimes hard to have hope for the future but the kids keep me going....I just focus on them and their futures.

Yes, extreme loneliness. The Rock in your life which is supposed to be there when the world treats you like poo poo is not there. You feel like no place is home. The central things that make us who we are gone and we don't know who we are anymore. Been going through the same thing.

I am married more than 28 years with three kids 22 living on her own, 18 starting out of state college in a few days and 12 with autism and difficulty in school, friends and other skills. It is a marriage that is based on him working a lot, bringing home the money since I am stay at home mom with small part-time writing jobs, and trying to avoid me with time playing video games, drinking a shot of whisky with our dog on his lap or making me feel like my feelings and needs are crazy, needy, or just nothing. I have bipolar 2 and issues with depression, mood swings and low self confidence. My mom is 94 and has dementia, I am an only child and my friends are more like casual people in and out of life to do stuff but do not feel connected. I am lonely with love, romance, affection and connection plus support for me and my needs/mental issues. The is so hard and sad. 2017 sucks and it is a downer thinking of another year with this mess.
