Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I can fully understand you are still grieving when hope of still getting back together keeps a person hanging on. Between the hope and a level of denial we find a way to cope with what we're dealt.
Please don't interpret my last post as a recommendation to jump into dating even if I came across that way. My apologies if I did. Consider it just a seed of thought that may help you understand what you are feeling more thoroughly which may help you work in some areas other than having just your focus on him.
I may sound sexist here but I'd rather see a man get taken advantage of than a woman if one of them is vulnerable. Be true to yourself above all things, and you are right, you do need more time.
take care
The last line of the last letter Catherine of Aragon to her husband, Henry VIII
"I make this vow, that mine eyes desire you above all things. "
My ex left me last July, we will be divorced 1 year in October. I don't miss him at all. Not for a moment. Very rarely do I even think about him. We are no longer together...our lives are no longer connected to each other...why would I waste energy missing him?? Do you think they miss us?? Absolutely not! What good could possibly come from missing someone who decided they no longer wanted to be part of our life.
I hope that you all find the strength to move on, to be happy again and to not miss/love someone that doesn't miss/love you!
Hugs to all!
"I'm not condoning rushing into a new relationship however, don't get me wrong. But you can acknowledge to yourself that the WHAT can conceivably happen again and you'll experience much of the same bonding as you did before which in turn feels just as good as before. It's really only logical as it is true in most all things. If you're thirsty you don't refrain from getting something to drink because you ran out of Coke or Pepsi, you drink something else. If you're craving a snack of chips and dip but don't have any, you find something else, and the craving goes away. "
I'm going to re read this over and over and over..I found this so humorous because it so makes practical sense--awesome :-)
Whether he ever misses me (doubtful) Is irrelevant. MY feelings for him don't turn off like a light switch the way his do. I don't choose to miss him/love him. It's just the way it is.
