Okay, So what's up with us women not having alot of friends? I am outgoing, can be funny, very loyal, but yet I have very few close friends.. the friends I do have are ones that have been around for 20 or more years. Most are remarried or work alcoholics. But when it comes to new people I just don't know how to do it. It seems so many of us here are going thru the same thing..HELP.. does anyone out there know how to fix this.. I just find it so hard to get out there and meet people it's almost worse then dating.. at least with dating you know whats up? HELP!!!!

I think we get caught up in our men, always putting them first, than our children - book clubs are full of women - if we share the same books we may have other things in common. I guess any club will have other women in them you'd have things in common with.

It's funny all of my friends are back home. I thought something was wrong with me for not really making friends here. I have my co-workers whom I love dearly but no one to really hang out with. the one person I did consider my friend disappointed me the way friends really shouldn't.
I can't seem to meet people who I can connect with.

The friends I have i have always had and they are true friends. i have met ppl but most of them were not trust worthy.

I find that most of my friends from around where we live are already in clicks that I can't seem to break into, I have tried and suggested a girls night out, but it was thrown back at me that they have girls nights in!!!!! lol, whatever. I can make friends easy at uni, but they never stick because I normally only see them for one subject as I'm only part time and my course is very flexible with choosing subjects. University has been easy to meet people because we have to work together sometimes in groups or partners and being a mature age student, all us oldies tend to stick together. I joined the Mature Age Studends Association at uni and that has been good, to just sit in there and have a coffee, they only have one big table in there and people sit around that so it's easy to join the discussion. I don't really have any good close friends though. I thought I did have one once, but she turned on me and turned into one of the worst mistakes of my life. So I am always mindful of that experience and don't think I would ever get close to another female like that again.

I looked into MeetUp which has meetings all over North America- they have coffee meetings, movies, all sorts. That's what I'm trying.
I'm terrible at keeping in touch and as was said, I made my hubby priority #1

I found one other woman that is going through a divorce as well. We understand everything the other is going through. Maybe a divorce support group? At least you would find people, like here, that get it and understand and want to get out as well.

The few really good friends I have are in thier 80's and nearly dead.I better find some new friends(younger).It's just I connect with ppl that know history of the area I live and have meaningful talks about life.
