I spent my 11th anniversary at a Philly meetup. It was a huge help spending that evening with other people. I can assure you, it was better than sitting home alone.

I was in that type of a situation for my anniversary two years ago. It was pretty tense at that time. We had a trip planned to go to Houston for a concert and to visit her brother that was going to coincide with our anniversary, I didn't go but she did. I was glad to be alone that day.
Maybe you can plan something for that Sunday and Monday like a visit with relatives, or friends so you won't have to be there.
May 3rd is a Monday maybe you can grab dinner with someone you work with?
What the hell I'm off Mondays - I'll pick you up on the bike :) Then you can say "May 3rd is the day I did 150mph down the PA turnpike." lol!
I just spent the evening alone, but then again....we didn't live in the same house. I would try to do something with you friends.
What a terrible situation. I'm so sorry. The upcoming anniversary -- ugh. Does your counselor have any suggestions on perhaps some thought techniques you can employ that day?
If family or friends are not an option on that day -- anything you can do by yourself that won't make you feel worse? Even if it's just going to a movie?
((((llmt))))
I left a month before our anniversery so I got through it.
I say keep busy by doing something like a project that perhaps takes you outside the house. Buy yourself some flowers just becuz.
(((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))) and good luck!
Good luck. Anniversary dates may hurt for a few more years.
Be strong, wishing you were close, would help you figure something out. Try not to mope, no self pity, maybe go get a massage, pamper yourself a bit. Karma will do the rest! Hugs!
