I believe marriage is a partnership... you share a home, you share a bed, you share your lives. But I also believe that there is some things you aren\'t always together for.

There will always be time needed apart... there should be! If you spend every waking minute together you lose that sense of excitement and mystery... I love my best friend very much but I don\'t spend every single minute with her! I couldn\'t

I understand the need for time alone... for independence. But I also believe in sharing your adventures with one another... talking about those times alone...

I think that it should be both. You become one when you are married, but you need to have some individuality too. That\'s what brought you two together in the first place right?

While you are husband and wife, you still have to have your own interests too. That\'s what makes you.....you. We have so much to teach each other. My ex and I were complete opposites when it came to academics. He\'s and English major and I\'m a Biology major. He turned me on to a lot of Literature that I would have never have read and I taught him a lot about the environment that he found fascinating. It\'s all about learning and growing with each other.

I believe that married people should not live separate lives at all. Each person in the relationship should be allowed to go out with other friends once or twice a month. The rest of the time should be spent on the marriage. Too bad this never happened for me...

There needs to be a good balance between the two.

yeah I believe that marriage should be a give and take situation, meaning sharing the same things in common, and some things not in common.

For example: My stbx loved UFC stuff, in the beginnning I didnt want to watch it all, but he would get pissy if I didnt watch it with him, so I did because thats what you do. You get into the things your partner is in to.

However- thru the fault of my stbx- he was unwilling to even try to understand anything I was into. So, thats where I have realized that in my personal relationship, I wasnt allowed to be myself, I had to bend at his will.

So, I believe that even if your mate is not completely intrigued into what youre into- they should have the same respect as you would them if you werent completely interested.

Otherwise, you do start resenting, and living seperate lives, with 2 different tv\'s and beds in seperate rooms.

So, in a round a bout way- I think I summed it up kinda....lol

Marriage is a partnership. Partners share everything but still retain independent areas of interests for growth.

Healthy, healthy...*healthy*, whatever that takes - - separate lives not so much, sharing and caring.. mucho.

Marriage is a bad joke.

I believe that in there should be some autonomy. I \'ve never needed to be on top of my loved one all the time. But communication is essential. Each person needs to take their need for quality time and companionship to the table and a compromise should be worked out. Also when away from my loved one I always try and stay connected even if it\'s an short e-mail or phone call. It\'s just how I respect the relationship.
