It only took a week for that 10% chance to turn into a 0% chance.
I knew it was over from the day she told me we were seperating, so maybe its best she has been honest with me so I can be honest with myself.
We got me an apartment yesterday; I will start moving in today. Basically I have 1 or 2 night left in my 4 bedroom house with my kids before I am in a 2 bedroom apartment with minimal furniture.
I just keep thinking about how im going to get through sitting in an apartment, all by myself (when the kids arent over), and not go insane. I have so much guilt and regret to live with. To be honest im scared to death.
I told my oldest (15) last night. He seems depressed and hasnt talked much since. We are gonna show my youngest (6) "daddys new house" tonight. He isnt going to understand, and he is going to be sad. I promised my wife I would try not to cry in front of him if he breaks down.
To top it all off I get to try and manage through this move with a severe cold that just came on last night, and zero sleep.
Sorry, I know I sound so self loathing.... I am just so tired.

why should you make a promise not to cry in front of your children? you are a human being with a heart going through a very hard time. your sad, heartbroken. emotions are a part of life. you just explain how sad you are. you don't sound self loathing, your expressing your sadness and sorrow. we are here for you. i hope you feel better physically and perhaps the kids and you can have fun doing some decorating to the new place, as long as you have love and happiness, you'll do ok. don't think of yourself sitting there lonely. this is the beginning of a new life for you, and your kids.

For me the first months were the hardest. I didn't know how I would make it through. Now, three months later I am able to function. I am happy again to some degree. Hang in there. It feels like it is too much but that is just a feeling; it won't kill you.

It's a feeling that I experienced too in the begining. How the hell am I gonna make it thru the day alone. But you know what... It's not that bad and dark as you picture it. You will learn to live your new life, slowly. Take one day at a time. It will feel strange but you get used to it. You will do fine, you'll see. As for the kids they might even find it exiting. I just got a new appt. yesterday and the kids liked it and it was a positive expirience. We're here for you.

I agree with the others. It would be GOOD for your children to see you cry... it gives THEM permission to feel through the pain as well. I know how you feel... on top of that, it's been 7 weeks since my husband told me he didn't want to be with me and I am STILL sick (not like cold, cough sick... like recurring eye infections which I have never had and cuts that refuse to heal...that kind of sick) take care of yourself first and foremost... your children will need the best of you now.
