Have you cut off contact with him completely? These feelings will pass. Don't torture yourself by thinking about the what ifs that are likely many years away. If you try to heal, you most likely won't even care who he married. You'll be happy in your own life.

I struggle with this, too, Brooklyn. My ex would have been a great person to grow old with. We were the type of couple who would find fun on a rainy day. I don't know why my brain escaped from my head and caused me to cheat instead of dealing with the problems in a mature manner.

Now I too think of what could have been. I feel like such an odd ball seeing all the women my age with wedding rings or a kid on the hip.

One night I thought about another woman carrying his firstborn in the future, and I started having panic attacks. The consequences of cheating are brutal. I wish I can get struck by lightning.

It does sting. But keelyc's right. It wont hurt anymore once you've healed. It may not seem like it now (and trust me, i'm hurting too) but we've to believe that there's someone else out there for us. It doesn't matter who our ex's end up with, Times short and we all deserve happiness of our own. Sometimes things may not work out, and we've to move on - that's what makes us strong. I feel your pain. My husband left me a week ago for another woman, taking my 8 year old step daughter with him. She's mine, minus the DNA, and now some other woman is feeding her, bathing her and putting her to bed at night. The pain I feel when I think about this is unreal.
