Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
If I represent non-custodial dad, I also try for long weekends from Friday after school until a return to school Monday morning.
Hope this helps (I'm assuming a 50.50 plan wouldn't work from what you posted)

How flexible is your schedule? Could you do an overnight during the week?
In any case, since once a week he's responsible for getting them bathed and to bed, I find he's a much better parent, and he sees for himself the issues that come up. This makes co-parenting SOOO much easier. Many times when he brings something up, I'll have been thinking about it myself, and vice versa. We almost always agree on when the kids should loose stuff like their Nintendos. I hate to say it, but I doubt that we could have ever worked so well together when we were married. (Mostly because he just never seemed to understand what I was talking about when I said No to the kids.....)
I like the arrangement I have with my ex and we mostly do ok with working out alternate arrangements.
I'm still looking for work, but I'm assuming the normal 9-5, mon-fri deal. He's been going to my mothers' every Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon since he was 2, so I don't want to break that routine.
His mother works that Friday and Saturday morning, and is starting to work Mondays. I would probably have him Sunday night on my weekends no problem. He stays with my dad every other Monday, so I could drop him off with his mom on those Tuesday mornings before work or something.
ugh.. this is so confusing. For those of you that don't already know, I traveled for work for the past 2 1/2 years, 6 weeks on the road, with 10 day breaks home. I have a hard time now thinking of being away from him. I have a lot of lost time to make up for, and this crap ain't helping.
My ex works weekend/nights and i work mon-friday 8-5, so i have my kids every weekend and she has them all week.
If you guys talk then im sure you can come to some agreement that your both happy with, if your not on good turns then its alot harder to work something out.
