Ok there is a lady that has shown a tremendous amount of interest in me.

We grew up together, she is in another state.

We meet again at a birthday party I threw for another gal I grew up with in that state.

It was at a Resturant/Bar, all had a good time.

Well she showed interest at the party and we started talking.

That was Two years ago. I went back down for a visit and we went for a day on my boat and had a good time. ( Nothing More than a kiss)

We have talked almosy daily.

She is very sweet and kind, but there is a catch.

She has a nineteen year old son. He is a good guy but has a few issues. Smoking pot and generally is not very mature.

I like her, she is attractive and outgoing.

She has expressed interest in relocating and seing where this would take us.

Red flags have presented themselves.

I have raised my kids and they are doing well. But in this day and age its was a bit more work than when I grew up.

It seemed to take my kids a few visits back home before they where self sufficient. This darn economy being what it has been.

Several things concern me.

She has told her son she is not renewing her lease and he should prepare for this. She has stated that if she does not come this way she has a girlfriend that she would move in with, or head towards her mothers.

If I was her I would feel like I would want to know that my son would be able to budget and learn some more responibity before I were to leave him on his own.

I know this might be coddling.

The other thing is this short timeline, seems a bit rushed.

I have told her she might regret leaving him behind and have doubts once she has uprooted herself.

This would mean possibly having him also relocate to this area and dealing with all that goes with it.

Little history,

I have done long distance several times in the past.

Once I cut it off because I knew that the kids needed their dad, and told that women I couldn't be a part of separating kids from a parent.

The other time I actually moved a gal from New York out here. She had two older boys that were in all kinds of trouble. They did not orignally move out here. But when they did, it wasn't long before alot of trouble followed. We didn't make it apparenty and it the total cost to me financially was devastating and emotionally. 

The other thing that I think about is, for me I don't have that feeling. Whats the word I am looking for, you know when your heart goes pitter patter. But I am old enough to know thats not all you look for in a relationship.

I Know the red flags are enough to take a good hard look at this and looking for some insight. I know this is not a site for dating but I believe its is also a part of moving through the breakup process.
