I'm just still surprised and shocked at how my life turned out and how a man who used to shed tears when promising me forever, to love, protect and care for me can suddenly turn into a narc I couldn't recognize.
It's been two years since my divorce but sometimes the trauma and horror I experienced come rushing back. Anyway he moved on with another woman before we went our separate ways, turns out he had other women all the years we were together. I'm struggling with forgiveness, I feel I'm still bitter and angry for tolerating and sacrificing everything.
I feel disappointed in myself at times...does it get better? How long does it take? One day I'm happy the next I'm miserable eish.

Now that I am not talking to my whatever best friend, I realized that her life is full of drama. I had grown tired of hearing her stories about her boyfriend many months ago. Forgiveness is for you .Not for him
Once you forgive he's not taking up this negative space in your head
You're able to let him go and move on for your well being
It doesn't mean that the way he betrayed you is okay
It just means that they no longer have a hold on you
If you have a faith leader or a therapist they could help you with this
Baby steps sweetie...You'll get there as jdark wrote over time....xo
Just be proud that you got out of the relationship. Just think it has been 2 years that you gave back to yourself. I’m always hard on myself for tolerating too much. I try to explore in therapy the reasons I tolerated things I would tell others not to. I recommend exploring your feelings and thoughts then get back out there and date with new perspective (if that’s something you want). Therapy while dating I also found helpful. I am a repeat offender of tolerating BS and not exiting relationships at the first sign of questionable behavior. So stay strong and learn from your choices.
