When you are suddenly out of a long term relationship, and especially so if you are an introvert like I am, you very quickly lose the sense of who you are. Today marked the 4 month mark for me and while I had been on dates with a few women, including one who I thought might have been someone special until many red flags popped up, I finally realized I still was not taking care of myself.  I was going to work, coming home, taking care of my dogs, going out only to get groceries. 

Finally I decided I had to get out of the house for the sake of my own sanity. Went to a hockey game, international under 17 tournament. Standing room, so I never sat down, my legs and back were screaming at me by the time the game was over...and I haven't felt better in a LONG time!

It has given me the incentive to do this more often. Not every night...Like all introverts I need to recharge in solitude, but there is a fine line between solitude and cutting yourself off from the world. Yes, I hope to find love again but I now know that will only happen if I can love myself again.  

Tonight was the first of many baby steps in that direction. And I'm going to the hockey tournament again  tomorrow night...
