paula, I have had several "chances" to hook up with college boys. My response to them was, "I am old enough to be your mother." It is wrong.

My former husband (who is NOT my recent ex) was 20 yrs older than I. We were married for 26 yrs. The age difference caught up with us later in life..but when I was younger, it really did work. We are the best of friends now.

My personal preference is 5yrs and have yet to meet anyone to change my mind. I've been asked out by guys in their mid 20s and it just grossed me out knowing they were same age as my oldest daughter. They were gorgeous and all, but I just couldn't do it. But that's me.

My dil 's father is 48 and is dating a girl just turned 21, she is older than his daughter. I am 52 i am not interested in dating yet but when i do it is hard to say how old the person must be, but definately older than my kids , i would feel awkward with someone younger than them.

No Not from experience. My mum is 12yrs younger than Dad and she told me that it was good when first married (she was 20 and dad 32) but later in life she found that because Dad had been everywhere before they met that he didn't seem interested in going anywhere (been there, done that syndrome). Am not saying that it is true in every case but the gap does follow you later in life. Plus, looking at it objectively for myself, I want and found someone who is content to walk through life with me not run and hope I can keep up.

WoW I'm glad im not the only one out there with this problem. MY stbx is 32 and moved her 21 yr old bf in with her. Are oldest kido almost 13, that kinda hit hard but after running his name and finding out he had a past criminal grandmaw made him move out of the house that she living in and he got arrested the next day. LOL I asked her why so young and she gave me the excuse he made her happy!!!! We can all wonder..

I am not even worried about my baggage now as I am under no illusions that people my own age have some form of baggage and can relate to me on a similar level. eg. my GF has been divorced for over 7 years and has a son who lives with inlaws. We support eachother when sad because we miss our children and her x is just as bad as mine so she helps me deal when I need some support. I try not to lean on her very much but she is very intuitive and can often see when I am struggling.

Lets see, ex #1 was 13years older than I - he acted like a immature child

Ex#2 is 4 years younger than me and it was worse than with #1

as for in the future, my desire is someone older. My limit... No one older than my dad who is 56. The only thing a younger guy can do for me is give me a run for my money in bed ;)

My stbx was 13 years younger- for some things it was great, for other things not so much. I was mistaken for his Mother a couple of times which did NOT please me in the slightest! I think it would just have gotten progressively worse as time went by.
I'm thinking 5 years younger or older is about it for me now.

Oh yes Simply you definitely underestimate the older man. Im a 100x better lover now at 36 than I ever was at 25.

As for me, well my stbx is 8 years younger than me. It was nice early on, but it really became a problem later. She had no life experiences except those she had with me, and high school. We had nothing in common.

Ive gone out on some dates lately and let me tell you, its SOOO nice talking to women my age. They know what they want in life, and have experiences in life to talk about.

Plus they are better in bed than young women. Young women have no clue when it comes to sex. (sorry young ladies). At least most of them dont.

Ex was 6yrs older. Most younger ones irritate the hell out of me cause they have not matured yet.

Its whatever BOTH are comfy with..If they are happy, why not.

my stbx is 21 years older...he's 53, I'm 32...huge gap. I feel like he's my dad. Heck, he's a year older than my dad.
