I have been thinking if I should contact my stbx regarding the post nuptial agreement copy. He keeps the original copy. I am not sure if it is ok to contact him on this as we are not contacting each other since the divorce has started...

personally, i would call your lawyer's secretary and ask her to get it from him. deal with your lawyer's secretary as much as possible instead of your lawyer because it is a lot cheaper. (It was for me.)

As I remember, you are in a foreign country. I also agree to contact your attorney because your ex was supposed to have provided a copy to you within so many days.

if you are getting a divorce, you should get an attorney. marriage is a legal matter that involves many things including money. your best interests as a marital partner should be represented by a professional.

Im having an uncontested divorce and it is not necessary for me to get a lawyer. We dont have a child and property to fight with and I consented the divorce. I am only interested in getting a copy of the post nuptial agreement.

the post nuptial agreement should be available on record at the courtouse in which it was filed if it was done legally. call the courthouse to obtain a copy.

Guess it would depend on whether you are on amicable terms or not. Since he has the only copy, it makes sense to get it from him. Getting it from a court will cost you money, so try him first.
