I woke up about an hour ago, 3am-ish. It's always a bit scary waking up in the middle of the night because I know thoughts of my husband will be there in my waking mind. So I try to clear it and roll back over. Never works though. The thought that I got this morning was "The worst mistake I ever made was the best thing that ever happened to me". My next thought was 'Ok yeah! NOW I'll never get back to sleep'. I actually smiled a bit though. It's one of those things that's so sad it's kinda funny. :)

I was there too. And doesn't everything always look worse at 3 am when you're all alone? I dreamed about him. I was at his brother's house, at a family gathering, and I knew it was the last time I'd ever be there. It was sooooo sad, and I knew I'd already lost him for good. And I agree, when you wake up and try to think of something else, ANYTHING else, you can't.

Grrr.......... I need stronger sleeping pills, I think.

Can I reply to myself? I guess as long as I don't talk to myself out loud it's OK!

I was just thinking of how that thought could have been worse. If it was turned around to 'The best thing that ever happened to me is the worst mistake I ever made' it's more pessimistic. And that led me to a thought that might allow the knot in my stomach to ease up enough to get a few more hours of sleep. I just had 4 of the most incredible years a person could have. It sucks that it's over, but at least I had it. :)

Hang in there Scottylass. The way I look at it is, I'm chocolate cake and he's icing. I love chocolate cake with icing but the chocolate cake by itself is still damn good! This pain isn't endless. One day I'm sure we'll be able to sleep all night and wake up with happy thoughts.

Well I don't know about your icing but mine was fantastic. I don't think I'd feel like this if it was say... lemon.

I have to drug myself to sleep, to. The weird thing is, it gives me such lucid and crazy dreams!

I woke up this morning, thinking that my cat should go back to his house, because my apt is small and near a busy highway. I am at my sisters in a house in the country, and my kitty loves it here. What is going on in my mind?
