Since I have been separated for 4mos and taken responsibility made changes etc...for my part in the marital problems. I have noticed so much about my H which concerns me. He is not the same man I was with for 17 yts. total. He is unhappy, exhausetd, angry, depressed (don't try telling him though), hardly smiles, feels he never loved me, only recalls unhappy things, and most noticably...he is soooo self focused. The self-focus, ie. talks only about himself, what he did, never asks about anyone else (secept kids) doesnt share anything about anything with me. Common friends have noticed, I could go on and on.

But what are peoples thoughts about male MLC's...are they for real? What do you do about it. I know it is more than his unhappiness with me. He left me for nobody and we had been together with no real changes in our 17 yrs. I mean no straw that broke the camels back so to speak?

they aren't really mid-life crises. they are mid-life corrections. at least that is my take.

any man married for 17 years should feel this way for at least a while. but, he will get his land legs back and carve out a new chapter.

I believe it is real, I cant think of any other logical reason im in the middle of a divorce after being married 33 years. I am not sure if what you describe is a midlife crises or not.

He sounds very depressed. Depressed people usually only can think about themselves, because they feel so bad, they can only focus on themselves and their pain. Have you asked him if he'd go talk to someone?

I believe that women aren't the only ones who go through menopause. Men go through changes too.

Excuse to cheat. I think...Male or Female. Just an excuse. We all go through the 'what if'' Doesn't mean we need to cheat. Or just leave.
Mine too is exactly where yours is.
Mine hasn't once in the past year (seperated for 5 months) asked how I am. I pointed it out to him he said, "yes i did. and all you do is say, "how do you think I am" Honestly. Really? No. He has never asked. I asked him. But stopped after 4 months of it. Seldom talk to him now. OUr kids are over age. I only text him now if there is something going on with the kids and business. Mine has not spoken to his son in the 5 months since, he..the husband, kicked me out of our house.
Yep. Just an excuse to cheat, be selfish, and self centered.

its the male menopause, medical and documented. sounds like a good naturopath might help. or a porsche!!! ha ha....
