I know I said it once before but man I hate the honeymoon phase. It feels like so much wasted time for me every time I would date someone new trying to figure out the real them.
I have this guy friend I have known for years and just adore. I always like talking to him because he never sugar coats things. Something he said to me recently has gotten me to wondering. He said he did not think I was as hurt as I thought about loosing this man. He said my ego was hurt. My friend swears the reason I am so upset and cannot let it go is because this guy was beneath me and the thought that he would rather choose to be alone than be with me is what is killing me. He said from listening to me talk over the months this guy was not the kind of person I would normally allow in my life. This guy was not my usual standard of man. Not that I am any more special than someone else. I tend to go for someone who is mentally my equal and can hold a conversation about whats going on in the world. The ex was smart in his own way don't get me wrong he was mechanically inclined but he was not very much into the serious conversation thing. Mentally he always seemed angry at someone or just not at peace with himself. Me I cannot remember the last time I was angry and I am a extremely centered happy person. Have been since I became a pagan and really got into meditation. My friend said I was fascinated with him because he was the wrong side of the tracks kind of man. He said I had already pointed out a few times I was getting bored with the guy because anytime I tried to ask questions about his life or bring up a serious subject he would get all upset because he really did not want to have to think and just wanted to watch tv or sleep. I am really going to have to put some thought into this now. I am looking at the pictures and still feel nothing. I cannot remember hardly any good or interesting memories about what we had yet I do still feel this pain or anxiety in me. Wondering if what my friend said has any merit and this is just an ego thing for me that he ended it first. Not sure I like what that says about me but it definitely might be worth thinking about now.
