I am a musician and music fanatic; music can be a powerful mood-changer for me. As I go through this horrible process of divorce, I find myself selecting powerful songs and assigning them to one of two different mixes:
The uplifting mix. Hopeful, defiant, happy. This is the one to go to most often, to try to pull my mood up.
The pain mix. Sad, heart-rending, dreary. This is to be used carefully. When I'm worn out from the struggle and maybe just need to let myself be sad for a little while - hopefully achieving some catharsis.
I just came across a really powerful "pain" song. Maybe it will resonate with someone. Use it carefully; don't destroy a good mood.
