I’ve been told that time reveals all. People can hide who they are, but only for so long. I’m glad you figured out what he was up too. I wish you didn’t have to go through these things with him. But I’m always here for support. And we all here together can help each other through almost anything I believe.

Good you saw him for his real self.
The farther away from him you get you will see more of his true colors.

New_beginning you are so right and I think he could no longer keep up with all the different faces so he decided to rip the mask off of the relationship face to salvage all the other mask he wears like at work, with his siblings and his kids. I see he is a person of show and he has to put on a certain persona for everyone, but too late for us, because I will not subject myself to any more of his foolishness and frippery!

Thank you Memphis, I am so glad to be moving so I can start fresh and completely remove him from my life. I know because of our children we will have to have some form of cordial communication, but that will be it for me and I guess the CS will have to be handled in court.

That really is hurtful. I'm sorry you are going thru that. It goes to show what a truly strong person you are to get up each day and still be there for your kids.

We all have been fooled...manipulators are good at that. Not until they squeeze someone dry of attention, money, sex, or whatever else they wanted...or until someone else catches their fancy....

I often say...when the devil accidentally let's you go b/c someone caught his eye...don't be a fool and come back to be chained up again.

Thank you very much Lavender80 I greatly appreciate you and I agree. Each day that goes by I lose the sadness I had and I realize what a blessing it is that he is gone. This is a blessing and I know my babies are going to be better without him than with him. I appreciate you!

I can certainly understand your amazement how many faces a person can put on when they are trying to manipulate you for their own benefit! Individuals like this are seasoned professionals at getting what they want at any cost. There's no reasonable thought to the feelings of others for their main focus is on themselves. I'm sorry you are going this experience with a person who doesn't accept his own culpability for any of his actions with you (i.e. not wanting to acknowledge your unborn baby). I must say his "out of the blue" gift to you was a warning sign as you later found out he doesn't want to pay child support. That is quite laughable for it's not up to him to decide when and how much money you need. He sounds controlling and as a single parent you don't need that in your life! That is a matter for the court system to decide and he might be in for a rude awakening as to what he might be ordered to pay! Go easy on yourself, Faithful and instead of trying to figure out how you didn't see the real him over the last 5 years, be thankful YOU DID realize he was not a "nice guy" when you did and now you can begin a healthier and happier life without him. Some of us that are introspective individuals will learn from our mistakes. Making mistakes is part of being human. There are plenty of people in this world we live in today ready and willing to bad mouth, name call and put down others in order to make themselves feel better. As women we need to support other women so I hope you don't beat yourself up over this. If you feel the need to go over in your mind the different things that happened between you and him that is healthy for now you have a free and clear mind you'll be able to pick out those warning signs you either overlooked or missed and not let this happen to you in the future. I hope as each day passes you remain strong and focused for yourself and your children.
