On this date last year I was really depressed. I had problems with work, had a divorce looming over my head, and I felt so alone.
This year I have a new job that is going well, the divorce is done, and there is a possibility that I may have found someone special (time will tell here). I no longer have a huge black cloud looming over my head and the future is wide open.
The truth is that a year is a short amount of time but it can make a huge difference.
Birthdays were depressing to me. I was woken up this morning by a nice text message :) This year I am making sure that I have a great birthday, even though I am working tonight! My ex ruined my last 5 birthdays, this will not happen again. I am responsible for my happiness this year and I am happy :)

Eventually I'll find somebody, but I no longer NEED somebody. I am very comfortable with being alone with my 2 cats.

My birthday was on Sept 1st and it was one of the worst birthdays. Last month I had to come to terms, that I may be leaving my husband. He's been cheating and lying for 14 years now. Next I will be turning 40 and I'm determined to find the happiness I deserve. Your post has given me inspiration. Thank you!
