It seems strange that she is calling you and chatting about her day when you are only away from one night. It's not like you took your kids to another country for three years.

Good on you, man, for not sitting around and wallowing. You got up and took your kids out, and that was an awesome (and mature) move.

And, yeah....the whole okaaaaaaaaay thing. It always made me wonder if she was being sarcastic or was just really confused with conversation.

@blh, she will move out as soon as she can afford to, which is soon, as I helped her land a full time job just before she told me she wanted out of the marriage.

@ everyone else who replied. Thank you all for the continued encouragement. I know I need to give up on hoping things will change. Having her live here and talking to me as if all is cool makes it hard to not be hopeful. Then again, I just got home with the kids from San Francisco and guess what? She isn't home and didn't tell me she was leaving and where she's going....what a surprise.

She got home about 2 hours after the kids and I got back from San Francisco. Apparently she was out looking at apartments. Like I mentioned, I helped her land a full time job within the company I work for (before I knew she wanted to separate). Anyway, I know it's good for her to move out, as it will help me move forward, yet I feel really sad that she's actually leaving. How can she just throw everything we built the past 10 years away?

It is not okay for her to throw everything away when you have invested so much not only in the past but for your future. It is fine to feel distant or frustration or even anger at you sometimes but love is a conscious decision and commitment to over come these periods. The wait and see if things gets better attitude of spouses who have doubts is WRONG AND UNFAIR. They must take an active role in their fking marriage especially when there is someone dedicated in their love to making things better.

If you are making an effort to move on, I wish you strength. You deserve the best and a hell of a lot better than you've gotten from her. Please allow me my reluctance to follow quickly behind you but know you have my admiration and we'll wishes.

@IDontMakeHerHappy... Strangely she still texts me asking me to help her with this or that. Whether it's simply stopping by the store on my way home from work or having me proof read documents and emails she needs to send.

If she wants to be on her own so bad, why still depend on me so much for little things? I want to move on, but simply just can't resist to continue to help her. I guess that's just me, that's what's in my DNA.

I get to hear her share details of her new job in addition to helping with the little things. Why does she want to share if I'm her prison? I too want to know how best to help myself... us.

If your wife is like mine, I suspect if another woman showed any interest in you right now, she'd realize the feelings she has for you. I never want to play those games but I wish my wife would take notice.
