Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
If you still torn though, take it slow.
If you go back, you'll have safety, security, and familiarity, but you'll be completely miserable again eventually. Things are going well for you, so don't screw them up by taking a giant step backwards.
You can divorce and start to date. This happened out of the blue. I would be very cautious. Everyone is right. You answered your own question.
Also, yes, remember why things fell apart. Those things still need to be addressed if you're going to try to save your marriage. No sweeping under rugs, and pretending like it's all disappeared. The issues will rear their ugly heads again if not dealt with - and with a vengance. Additionally, I think it helps to sit down and seriously draw up boundaries and a framework for the relationship if you want to move forward with it. Both parties need to be VERY honest and clear about communicating their wants and needs and expectations of their partner so everyone is on the same page and you can try to minimize misunderstandings and the little things that turn into big things.
Ultimately, as everyone has said, follow your gut instinct and make the best choice for YOU.
