For all of you ST fans- I highly recommend this movie.... I think it was the best one yet (and even if you are not a big ST fan- it's entertaining enough for anyone). I had a fabulous date with my 8 year old son... probably the best one I have had in YEARS! LOL.... Fun times- and although I didn't see it at an IMAX theater- I heard that was way cool, too!
Now we just have to find the time!!
I watched all of the orig. Star Trek on DVD (in the 60's, I think my father was just born so..lol) and they are fantasic, and this movie stay's true to the personalities. Its fan-freakin-tastic!!
It SOOOOO FOOKIN ROCKED!
I would pay to see it again in the theater, it was THAT good.
And the young Spock and Kirk were so cute!

It was one of the most fun movies I've ever seen. This is a bold comparison, but like Raiders of the Lost Ark, this movie had not an ounce of fat on it. Every second was captivating.
And there was enough stuff in there to keep the Trekkie in me engaged, while still entertaining the newbies like mys tbx and our son.
One of the better Star Trek films, although I still like that one with the Borg and the Next Generation cast :)

I am such a trekkie and this was AWESOME!
Action from the beginning to the end and not silly stuff.. but cool action!
I do have to say one thing.... this changes everything we all grew up with... this is opens up SO many new Star Trek doors!

the new movie was good but
did it have to be so violent with the noise of pounding flesh and all
i wouldn't bring a child to this movie
and yeah the special effects were good but i think it would have been better if the whole movie were more like the end
it was very well casted
but please the story didn't make sense and it was way too uncomfortably violent
sorry american has to keep getting more and more violent to hold the audience attention
