thanks,i dont think it is fair either and i am not the kind of person who wants to make a bad situation worse,,i kind of thought that paying my share for the insurance was expected but maybe I shouldnt assume..I have already agreed to may my share for the divorce and been cooperating with her about everything although she has been nearly impossible to deal with lately...what does stbx stand for? i see it all over the place.

Well, your stbx (soon to be ex) must think you have some kind of leverage to be threatening you in that way. Because of the short marriage, musict is right, a judge will not favor much of a split of the assets. However, if you do not already have it, you should get legal representation and make sure that the medical coverage you want is something included in the division of assets. As nasty as it may seem, property settlement is a negotiation and dirty, threatening tactics are not uncommon. You need to establish some legal ground and then work from there. Remember, she seems to be using threats and coercion as a means to settle with you. I do not recommend using those same tactics against her, but you have to stand your ground with your lawyer and a proposed settlement that provides some give and take. Good luck.
