that's just a pity party talking.
life choices are better than that!
We all deal with specific people in our lives. Those specific people react to our decisions combined with their own biases.
Are there gender-specific predispositions? Sure.
But the way you described things, you left absolutely no room for success in your relationships. I don't think that you are limited to those two scenarios.
Contrary to this post, I don't tend to generalize things either because I know that it may not always apply. But it was a sarcasm based off of those two somewhat apposing ideas that I was recently exposed to. And that's why I said I'm trying to understand. I know there are many other scenarios.
I don't know about success in a future relationship though. I don't think I'm willing to try. I will not risk being in this place ever again. So I don't know. But again, I appreciate your insight.
I was asking for clarification to what you meant, in case I missed something. I would like to introduce a concept to you: Not everyone is going to agree with what you or others write, and they have a right to voice their opinion. Just because they don't agree, it doesn't mean they're being negative, it means they're not agreeing with you, and instead, are stating what they believe in, which is just as valid.
Support comes in many shapes, and it's not always the, "don't worry dear everything will be fine just go to god," approach that works. If it works for you and others, that's great, but it doesn't work for everyone. The whole truth and reality is what works for me, and countless others, to see things for what they really are, and that's what spawns change, not a pat on the back with kind words.
