Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Talk to your doctor. Journal your emotions, hours of sleep with how many hours of quality sleep you think you got. Journal if something set you off, what it was and what occurred with you. Take the journal in to your doctor so that you can discuss if it's just life, or if maybe there's a pattern.
You may realize that you are being too hard on yourself. Or you may find out there is a medical issue behind it all. Good luck!
Be careful when you feel overwhelmed because you might or might not take it out on them. Once when I got very frustrated, I yelled at my little girl and her eyes got so sad that it brought me down to my knees. Seek counseling.
Time will heal if you do your part and allow it.
I sleep very little mostly because my kids wake me up in the middle of the night plus the fact that I intake a lot of caffine.
You may be just tired and that is why you feel overwhelmed and are not as able to handle the stress as someone that has the required amount of sleep.
Can you hire a kid to shovel the snow and someone to make repairs on your home?
This way its not all on you.
You are only one person, you can't do everything.
4queens, I like your idea about keeping track of patterns... Last night happened to be a particulary rough night of sleep for me, combined with an early morning. I plan on letting my doctor know (although she's aware of what things are like for me right now).
I love the work I do from home - my dream, when I get the chance to actually get work done. I do have scheduled time that I try and go by.
Re: getting out for "me" time... I agree. Unfortunately, it's not always easy. As I mentioned I live in a rather remote area and anywhere I go is about half an hour away, and I don't have relief either right now. I'm with my daughter day and night, including weekends. So, yes, I know I need a break. I had a couple of things I do - playgroups (great for both of us) and a church that had a nursury that watches kids, while adults listen to service. However, as I mentioned, everything is far, and a day like today - snow storm - so I missed taking her (and me!) to a playgroup today. I have one I started in town, which reconvenes in a couple of days. I guess the holidays put a damper on sheduled events like that, where I really felt I had a bit of breaks during these outings.
Unfortunately, I can't really afford to hire someone to do the snow or other things for me. I get help from time to time.
1ToughCookie, What's Lexapro? Just curious.
I know much of my problem is the lack of sleep, which is mainly because my daughter has never been a sound sleeper, and even when she is, she wakes at least once a night. Combine that with the fact that I feel everything takes from me - so many demands on me, and I know I need to find ways to nurture myself (although sleep is a big factor).
Thanks everyone.
