I should add that her lawyer is married. I have known her for a year. She found me in fb and went after me pretty hard. she was crazy about me until we started getting serious. She had mentioned that she was in love with her lawyer BEFORE she met me. But then she stopped talking to him. I suggested she had to get a different lawyer. He is clearly using her, not divorcing his wife but still keeping her. The lawyer knows her well. He knows she has been in two abusive relationships and she is weak. So he knows he can have her without leaving his wife. But I guess that is not my problem any more. I have to be strong and not answer her calls. She seems very confused, One day she loves me the next she is not sure, and now she drops the bomb telling me that she is in love with her married lawyer with whom she has no future. The next day she calls me and tells me she might change her mind. I have a medical condition that limits my social life a lot. I spend a lot of time alone. Before I was sick I was very confident and would have told someone like this to go fuck her lawyer and leave me alone. Now it is harder.

I don't know if it matters that the lawyer is married and that he has had two years since the affair started to divorce his wife and has not done so. Maybe my x is having second thoughts realizing she might end up with neither of us and that is why she wants me to hang around. I the lawyer was single and committed she would not be hesitating. She went out looking for someone else because she felt there was no future with him.
