Ok so heres my two cents, cause I am pretty much an expert on where you are at. I have struggled with the same problem and my sister gave me some pretty sound advise I must say. This is gonna come off as bizarre but bear with me. She told me if I wanted to be sure I was not going to be emotionally devestated in the event I found out he was cheating on me or using me, to do the following: Convince yourself that he had been in bed with other women. In fact, envision it, as gross and hard as it may be... imagine him saying all the things says to you to someone else. The exercise is surprisingly painful at first, but then you start to condition yourself, and detatch. Once you feel like it wouldnt bother you anymore - then there truely are "no strings attached" and if you found out he was messing around, you would simply say, "Meh, your loss loser!" and be done with him.

Somehow I think Chris has sensed this change, and it's he who comes sniffing around for attention and love and support, not me. True Empowerment can be a beautiful thing!

P.S. I just bought the book "How to break an addition from a person"... I will let you know if there is anything as good in it as "Women who love too much".

You know, im not sure where this will lead, the ball is partially in his court. i told him we could see each other, and work on things, slowly, and see where it goes. i wont keep meeting with him like that, for things like sex, because well, i dont want the rollercoaster it could turn into. you guys are right, i know it could turn that way. and i wont let it.
if we meet again, i dont want sex involved. talking, hugging maybe, but no sex. if he walks away then i know he only wanted the one thing, if he stays, then i know maybe he still cares. i dont know. day by day, thats the only way i can live right now.

I don't know your history with your ex - nor do I need to, however, if you choose to engage in sexual relations with him, please bear in mind that if there is ANY reason to suspect at all that he may have slept with other women, that alone is reason for pause.

Any sexually transmitted disease is potentially harmful to your child. There are some STD's that do not show obvious signs or symptoms in the male. There are some STD's that condoms DO NOT protect against.

Whatever you choose for yourself, please consider your child and it's health and safety as well.

my husband and i have 2 little girls...3 and almost 2 years old. HE wanted to try one more time for a little boy and i miscarried in january. by march i was pregnant again. he was so excited and i was TERRIFIED of another miscarriage. now as soon as i hit 8 months pregnant....his low ass doesn't want to be with me anymore. we've been together 9 years and married for 6 1/2. i'm terrified he's out there getting his...when i'm the only one who's had him! and wondering when it'll ever happen for me! i'm not one to sleep around and i planned it to be just him for the rest of my life. i'm with you....the thought of ever being with someone else makes me physically ill.
