I have just signed my divorce documents after seven years and it still hurts.My husband was cheating in the marriage and although we were separated over the seven years he made it out like there was a possibility we could work it out.Infact he was in a full time relationship but having me on hold.The mistress contacted me and we talked last year and she was having infeldility problems with him also.But she insists she loves him.He also chose her, I did tell her that I knew there was someone that's why he couldn't make up his mind.I had no relationship while faithfully waiting as a wife.That doesn't make me perfect that was just a choice.I decided after her great revelation to file for divorce.But it still hurts.The lies and deception..he seems like hes got it all together and like he doesn't even care that hes hurt me or our children.I didn't think it would hurt so much after seven years.I just want to move on and sometimes I wish he could just go away ..it would be easier for me but not for our kids.Thanks for reading guyz.

I'm sorry for your situation, but proud of you, too. You made a very hard decision. You deserve better. If your a reader, pick up the book, "Getting Past Your Breakup" it has helped me tremendously after my divorce and following relationships. I've learned a lot about myself. The end of a marriage is always sad, but you can get through this and come out a stronger, happier person on the other side. Be strong, be kind to yourself, you will be OK.

Sorry you are going through this. Seven years is a long time to wait in limbo. I would suggest that you seek counciling. Waiting for someone for seven years while he was with someone else and trying to start a family with them is not healthy. You need to get to the root of your problems and find out why you would hold on to nothing for so long.

I hope you find the strength to finally move forward...for you and your children.

That's such a tough story to read. I'm sorry that you've experienced the pain of infidelity. Even in the midst of the darkest days I believe there is hope. My prayers go out to you and your family as you walk down this tough road. Do you have any plans for you and your children to see a counselor after the fact? They may be able to help you get back on the tracks. Hang in there and God bless.

I am so sorry. My ex was cheating on me. That's why I left him. It hurts all day, every day. But i've been through this before, unfortunately, and there will come a day when you just don't care anymore. I wish that for you.

This is why it's so important to go no contact once they say they want out. This false hope can waste so much time. I wasted 5-6 months but 7 years??? That's really too bad. Keeping hope alive kept your pain from not being able to heal unfortunately. Your starting from scratch now. You'll make it it'll take time

I am so sorry to hear that you suffered so long. I agree that you should seek counseling and explore why you chose to suffer for so long and why you would choose to become "the other woman". During the process of my divorce I had to learn to come to terms with the reality of our relationship. The reality was the marriage was over long before he filed for divorce. The divorce just forced me to deal with the reality. It was hard but I survived and you will too. You are worthy of love, especially from yourself.

i'm feeling your pain also angelicc, as i am going through the same thing very similiar to you. Married along time and now he decides he wants a divorce after 7 years of separation.
I had hope because he gave me hope he was coming home.
I have such a pain in my heart it hurts and i cannot stop crying
So sad to watch this love end.

I think you will find that the divorce will actually help you more than you think. While it is commendable that you chose to wait, that waiting also left you in limbo and didn't allow you to work toward acceptance and healing. The finality of divorce forces our heart to catch up to our mind already knows--this relationship is over.

I also that counseling would be beneficial for you. You do need to learn about yourself and why you accepted his cheating and disrespect for seven long years.

Love him and thought I would be happy when
He came home. But, after so long waiting
He shocked me with his words that he wants
Closure - this is so hard to accept the
Finalization after knowing him most all of
My life- I don't know which way to turn on
My own free will, it's a scary world out there!
