Hello I'm very sorry for your what your going. Its true that when you have loved someone and given them you heart and emotions that even when you know it was a bad situation you still wish that it could have worked. You wonder what happened? It was so promising in the beginning, and your hurt that it didn't work. I went to Helpguide.org (Coping with breakups and divorce. It offered me a lot of helpful information.

Going through the same thing still. My separation has been brutal, to say the least. Lots of bitterness from both of us, and a lot of nastiness. Don't know how this happened, but know I have to find a way through. We'll get through it basnime. Trust me on that. Just may take a little time.

The sadness is not as raw but it's still so surprising when I feel it. Going out I feel like a vulnerable target for everyone unsavory. This is so hard. Thanksgiving will be our first holiday separated.

I am unfortunately going to have the same Thanksgiving issue as you as well. Going to be horrible, when it should be the happiest time of the year.

I feel for you. My wife of 22 years came up to me in September and said she wanted out. No counseling or any kind of intervention. No infidelity, no fighting, no money issues. She wants to find herself. I have been so in love with her. I feel like it's worse than if she would have passed away. The people that bail, cheat, or just give up without any attempt to repair or improve the relationship are just deceitful and self centered. It will be impossible to trust anyone again. A promise is a promise.

My wife is the same LookPastTheHurt and MontgomeryDad. People who look for fulfillment outside the family home have no respect for the loved ones they leave behind feeling crushed and lost. They reject their family at all costs so they can concentrate on their own feelings. It's likely over time, possibly years, regret will enter the evil spouses life.

So sorry that you are going through this. It is very difficult but you can do it. I wish you nothing but peace .

Yes, it is so very hard. Grief is a crazy emotion- one that is impossible to understand unless you have been thru it.

I am heading into my third Christmas since my husband left me - same story as everyone here. It does get better, easier. But, it takes a long time. I wish I could say I was completely thru it, but I am not. Be gentle with yourself. Reach out to those around you for support and help. You will get thru it.

I''m right there with you.. my husband told me last week he wants to separate. He is taking the kids to his dad's for Thanksgiving so I'll be all alone for the first time for the holidays. Kids keep on asking about what we're doing when they're at grandpas or when we are putting up the Christmas tree and I am just so debastated....
