Separated, waiting for court date, feeling lonely

The first month seemed the longest, waiting for house to sell. Then last month seemed the longest, waiting to move from house to apartment Now this month is the longest, waiting for court date. Although I am so much more at peace now, no fighting, stressing over alcohol issues, I can tell you it is getting lonely. We talked of divorce since November, so I feel like this has gone on forever. I go to the mail box everyday, I just want closure on this chapter of my life. Anyone else in this phase? Just waiting, and wondering what my life will be like in the future, hoping I made the right choice, I know I did, but the thought is there daily. I'd like to say I will never be with anyone else and could be happy alone, but I just don't see that. I don't go to bars and I just want to have my life back  with someone, and be happy with what I've missed out on for many, many years.

Hugs, I had to live with that now ex for one year after I filed for separation. I was hoping against hope that he would come to understand what he was doing was ruining the family, But not even that worked. You will have to be gentle with yourself. You have been through the wringer. There will be days that you feel like you are on top of the world and days that feels like you would just want to curl up and cry your eyes out. It is normal. I hope that you have a good therapist, financial advisor and a lawyer. Come here and vent all you want. When you see him, just smile, turn around and walk away. Have as little contact as possible.

It does get lonely. I've recently left an on again off again relationship of 3 years. Part of me just wants to go back just so I have someone. I'm not a very social person so I don't even see how I'll manage to meet someone again. Some days are better than others though and I hope it in time it gets better and I'll be able to actually find the life I want with someone. I'm sure you will as well. On the hard days just try and remember how much at peace you are now. You'll get your life back.

I'm at that phase. Everything has slowed down again. I had meeting with lawyer today to go over the financials. Stbx is doing everything to slow down an already painful and expensive process. We are always waiting for her. I don't get it, she had the affairs, hated me and wanted me gone. You'd think she'd want this to be over. Not at all...delays every chance she gets. I'll get there but like you, I feel like everything's at a stand still.
Stay strong, we will all be happy here in time.

Thank you for the replies. Thinking of finding a counselor, no lawyer since we agreed on everything. They just make it painful to end a marriage. Through the wringer is definitely how it feels, sometimes you think what have I done, and other times why didn't I do this sooner! This site has been a blessing that's for sure, just knowing others are going through it too. I'm not very social either so I'd have to meet someone through someone or at the store or gym! And definitely no online dating websites, not for me.
