My "husband" is here-- in the next room, but like usual I have never felt more alone. I started a divorce over a year ago, but paused it because there was always another reason or crisis. I am working up the nerve to tell him in the next day or two I am picking up where I left off and going to finally go through with the divorce.

I miss not having someone to be able to share with... our days, our hopes, dreams, fears, silliness and crazy fantasies... the whole nine yards.

I posted on another group about feeling so completely empty and alone. But the truth is I have felt that way for more than 12 years. He completely shut down-- very minimal communication, no physical touch ( except an occasional peck) no help of any kind-- he is content as his needs are all met-- but not one of mine is.

Is good you do have your kids I guess to keep you going . But I will cross my fingers and say some prayers that you do find some others to get back out there and spend some time. Enjoy your weekend off.

I'm very sorry your in such a undeserved situation. I can only imagine how lonely you must feel. My sister who is one year older than myself was married for 22 years to a man who never met any of her needs ever. They had a 3 storey homeland he spent all his time alone in an upstairs bedroom watching tv, smoking and playing guitar. If noone told you he was home you would never know he was there. After my marriage failed over 11 years ago I was forced to sell our family home and for one year I lived with my sister and her family. After one month of living with them my sister mustered the courage to tell her husband to leave. She hasn't never looked back.

You deserve happiness, affection, conversation, fun, joy and fulfillment. I dont know your husband d but I've heard and read of countless stories of men just completely shutting themselves off from there wife and sometimes there whole family.

I hope you find what you deserve. Life is too short to spend it feeling so alone a d unhappy.

So what would your Saturday night be like if you were still with someone special? It does not take much to make me happy--- I would make us a special dinner (in a perfect world he would help me clean up and do the dishes--or perhaps distract me but then help after we were done. wink, wink)
Then I would be content just snuggling on the couch watching a movie--- or even playing games with friends. It is just nice to be with friends sometimes too.

Dinner out or dinner in. I'm fairly romantic so sometimes I would cook us a nice dinner with some white wine. Sometimes we would go to the movies or even just watch netflix or play games like you mentioned. Lots of laughs and silliness. Our evenings often ended nicely in the bedroom.

Sounds perfect to me. Sooner or later, someone will be lucky to have you. I have to admit I too have a sometimes silly sense of humor. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine. lol

PS I must admit you are a rare find these days (at least around here) A romantic who would actually plan and make a special dinner-- and actual romance....I get excited just imagining. lol

Its not too late to find a new hobby, and find one that is challenging.
