If you don't stop your obsessing and take action, six months from now, when he's on his honeymoon in the Caribbean with the other woman and you can't pay your bills, we will be reading a suicidal post from you on the depression forum.

If your doctor stbx can pay you 6K a month, MOST lawyers will take your case
Your ex knows this. The last thing he wants is for you to stick up for your rights.
He will do and say anything to dissuade you. This is why YOU MUST NOT DISCUSS THIS WITH HIM!
Retain the attorney asap and refer any questions your ex has to him/her.
One more time - an attorney is going to make sure his support payments are legally binding, and chances are your ex will have to pay YOUR legal fees. He knows this, and will try to talk you out of it.
You MUST be strong for yourself now. You MUST.
As was written above, get copies of all important financial paperwork, if he hasn't moved the papers already. Spouses DO hide things, especially if they have financial resources. Spouses DO lie, even to their lawyers. Stbx says I have millions hiding in an account. A lock box, to be precise, I guess at a bank? I did receive an inheritance after my mom passed, but no where near what he thinks, there are 9 kids in my family, it all got divided up. Plus, he spent most of that money. Now he wants more, when there is no more? I would never think of lying about finances, never. Facts are facts, they all come out in the end, as long as you have documentation. I worry about the speed at which your husband wants to move. He's plotting, I think.
You come first now, remember that and protect yourself.
Is this a scare tactic, to get you to agree to the 6K?
Because he's trying to screw her royally.
My fear is that she's going to allow this.
Ugh. It's like watching a bad accident unfold and you're powerless to stop it.
I hope you take the advice, emotional depression is enough on it's own without the added weight of financial despair and debt :'(
