I'd say about 3 months. I don't know. I stopped wearing my rings in August, and that's after wearing them for 6 years. I think that it took 3 months, but I can't really remember. The indentation is gone now, but still have a bit of a tan line.....boo.

mine has been off for 4 months and there is still a mark... It makes me sad everything I look.. sometimes i even find myself feeling with my thumb to move it...weird and sad at the same time...

Mine has been off for over a year. I think I will always have the mark. I wore my ring for 30 years.

i think its not time but rather how deeply into your finger it cut...

a guy tonight at the DivorceCare course, after class showed us the Wedding band marks that were still there 15 years later...

He also had BIG hands and its likely that his ring was small enough to cause permanant, albeit slow, damage to his finger...

so a year or 50... its how tight the ring was to start...mine isn't that tight... its just enough that there is a light rubbed spot... it might take a few months to go away or a few days... i just don't know.

I do know that the marks on my face from wearing tight glasses for 15 years still haven't gone away and i've been wearing contact lenses for about a year now.

Kath it isn't that weird, I have done the same thing . .and I still sometimes think I have lost it for a second when I see it isn't there before I remember why.

It drove me crazy! I'd feel that they weren't there and start to faint.

I just unconsciouly rubbed that spot where the callus was.

get some great lotion for your hands and when you notice it lather them up and ... be kind to yourself.

I would put my hand by the car window on my drives home from work so the sun would tan the white ring. It took a couple of months.

I wore mine for almost 7 years... once I took it off I immediately replaced it with other rings. different sizes and shapes and widths. My mark is gone now and I never even think about it anymore.

I actually was going through my jewelery box the other day and I found my rings. They actually looked ugly to me. I just put them back and forgot about them again (until now).

It does go away but you have to work at it... I wear rings on all my fingers, even my thumb... so ring marks are very common... but I've changed the mark that was my wedding ring into something else and I like that!

I wore mine for 27 yeas it has been removed for 5 years and I can still see where it lay on my finger.....it was kind of tight, and during a hospital stay and a lot of dehydration it was removed by the hospital staff....

It took me 6 months. I prayed and asked God to use that mark to tell when He feels I'm ready to date. Weird idea but ... well it took 6 months.

I wore it for almost 9 years
