Did you at least shoot a bit while you were there?0
My parents have 3 daughters. I'm the black sheep of the bunch. My sisters look like my mother. She's a beautiful woman... I'm the only one who looks like my father...and identical to his mother. My grandmother was always dressed to the 9s and picture perfect. I'm not. I think, at times, that he wants me to look the part, so he can often "drop" hints.
Secondly? Your parents seem to assume you need to half of a couple in order to be complete. It's the generation, they won't get it. Let dad but you nails. He's teaching and trying to have you do something girlie.
If you want to find someone you will, I know the 'hang up' on other guy, he's safe to be hung up on because you get to crush but keep your distance. You get to feel angsty and crushy but not have to actually get emotionally involved in the day to day romance coz it isn't there.
Personally? I'm broken. I know it. I walked away from my impossible crush a few weeks ago, I just....couldn't take it anymore. I have an occasional "chew toy" that means nothing. (And I mean nothing to him either). It's not likely healthy because it reinforces my mindset that I'm not relationship material but - it's what I want to do right now.
Lol - no idea if this makes any sense.....You vent and I'll just brain dump.
I tried to energetically cut the energy from my "crush". It didn't work. :/
I wish, at times, that I hadn't experienced what I did.
When I was divorcing, my Dad sent me money once in awhile with instructions "Spend it on something pretty when you're feeling blue". One, he knows when I spend money, it's usually on my kid and, two, he knows I don't like shopping...lol...but I know where his heart was when he said it.
You sound like you have pretty good parents...and via your posts, I know you're one helluva mom.
It's not being "not good enough"...it's being amazing and you will know when the "right" man crosses your path.
Keep kicking ass, girl!
