You know that you are recovered when you can deal with the ex and feel no anger towards them. My ex actually did a descent thing and sent me some important mail that was delivered to our old house. I am going to send her a thank you e-mail for this.
It is amazing that you can get to the point where someone you cared deeply about is just another person. No matter how bad they hurt you they can hurt you no more and you have gotten your life to a point where you are comfortable with it.
Healing takes a lot of time. A lot of times the other person has moved on faster than we did. They have already started establishing a new life before they drop the bomb on us. This causes a lot of anger and hurt but it does go away and you can move on with it.
In the end it is hard to move on, it takes a lot of time, and it is tough but we must do this. The best advise is that you should just put one foot in front of the other and continue moving in the right direction. No matter how slow you move, eventually you will be miles away from where you were!

We all are at different stages on here. Those of us who have been here a while have watched ourselves and others as we moved through this process, all at different paces. Some people on here have just started this journey.
It is hard, so hard, but it will happen. Stay positive!
