Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
You did what was best for you, know that. You'll miss the time you guys spent together but deep down you knew to yourself it wasn't right for you.
Hope your night has gotten a little better. Our experience seems somewhat similar, although my ex began dating a co-worker 4 months after we broke up. I definitely felt okay, until I found out that he's exclusively dating, and that really put me in a tail-spin. It really hurt that he seemed to move on, and I definitely just kept thinking about the "good times", and not really recognize the bad, or give it the same weight. Wish we could take the emotional part out of the thought process, because if we really were able to just see the facts, things would be much easier. Thinking about whether or not he began the relationship isn't going to do you any good - if he did, that says a lot about his character. If he didn't, three weeks is pretty fast after a 5 year relationship, so there's always the chance that it's a rebound relationship. Regardless, why are we wasting time thinking about them, and not expending that energy on ourselves? Guess that's why I chose the username Ugh Feelings ;)
I use to do what your doing now, it's called denial. I wouldn't recognize or come to terms about what was wrong with me, so I focused on him. Everything was about him. But it's not, everything is about you. Your probably fighting childhood demons, that you really need to come to terms with.
Sorry I don't really know you, but this really does hit close to home. Take care and seriously start looking inward.
