I have two kids. Whatever happened with the divorce, the rings are a symbol to my kids that one day in the past...their parents loved each other. I saved the rings for them.

Kids of divorce have to go through a lot...it's a small thing for me to save that for them.

We got divorced 10 years ago. My kids are now teens. It's also had the odd affect of a sort of birth control. My kids are VERY aware that the "other parent" to their future children is a very important factor. Neither are too anxious to jump into a relationship (although they both have a good relationship with both of us).

Oh I totally agree, if I had kids I would do that for sure. But I don't and my ring is a symbol of someone that once was in love with me and that's that.

i lost it. i thought i had it in a jewelry box. i can't find it anywhere. i guess that's poetry:) i lost my marriage and my ring at the same time.

My first wedding ring I sold and I'll do the same this time. It meant something at the time now it's just a ring I no longer wear. I know not everyone feels like me but I'm also in the process of donating my wedding dress. My husband didn't mean 'better or worse' so therefore these things no longer mean anything to me. Very very sad but painfully true

I'm not sure what I'll do with mine. She still has it. I might never get it back. If I did I may keep it. Not sure if my son would want it or not.

I kept mine. It is very simple. I may take the diamonds out and put them in new setting for my 2 daughters. Havent' decided yet.

I threw my ring so many times during anger and fighting over alcohol related issues, that eventually the diamond fell out, and I am not sure where the diamond fell out. Just noticed one day that it felt jagged on my finger and that's when I noticed it was missing. Never had the chance to replace the diamond, and my husband like always didn't seem to care anyway. I do have an eternity Levian diamond chocolate ring......quite expensive, but it was only bought after my husband forgot our anniversary and I reminded him. It just sits there, not quite sure about it....perhaps I'll wear it someday after the divorce.

So, when I found out that my ex-wife used to routinely wear her wedding ring while she was intimate with the jerk she cheated with, I flung mine at her since hers was just jewelry. I'd thought I represented her love and faithfulness to me.

Since it didn't? I wanted no part of a one-sided vow!

I have no idea where it is and don't care. I suppose she has it or sold it.

Why my kids would want a symbol of that horrible failure is beyond me.

I pondered on this. If I have to pay my husband for the divorce settlement I may just tell him to take the ring and sell it. If not I will sell it myself and use it for vacation.

My wedding ring was carefully selected with intimate meaning it's tungsten with an 18 karat gold Center. Tungsten is the densest metal in the known universe forged in the hearts of stars that goes Supernova billions of years ago. Because it is so dense it cannot be removed by a saw or adjusted so when I ordered my ring I ordered it a half size too big knowing that my family history has arthritis. I was planning to wear it when I was an old man. Its remarkably heavy my hand feels naked without it. I put it back on and my 9 year old came to me and said oh good you are married again. No Jimmy, i replied that's not how it works. I'm devastated and so is my oldest. My 7 year old has non verbal autism, it's difficult to ascertain how much he knows but he's an emotional chameleon, he's sensitive to the moods around him. It's so hard, at the moment impossible to project that everything is OK. It's very not ok. Sorry to be off topic. Circling back to the original thesis tungsten cannot be melted technically its type of metallic ceramic and despite its immense weight, strength and density, if you put enough pressure on it it shatters what a perfect metaphor for what has happened to my marriage. I put mine in the safe. I get it out occasionally and try it on wishing that I could still wear it everyday.

My wedding band was cheap and bought by my stbx father 24 years ago as the marriage started to go down hill I did not wear it after all he threw his down the air vent and lost forever I did hold on to it but he did not replace his so I did not wear mine . Eight months ago I threw it outside while at work and I did it without anger , It was a nice release. If I had a nice ring/wedding band I would have sold it and put it towards my sons education but my wedding band that I had was less than a hundred bucks 24 years ago. Worth nothing then by value . I even trashed my wedding gown 3 years ago and I trashed all of the wedding photo's and albums because it just felt right and I have no regrets.

Tucked away....hoping to be able to wear it again.

I still have them , she's not getting them , my kids can have them .

I sold them. I needed money for my kids.
