What the heck are we teaching our children?
If you ask someone out and they turn you down? Kill them!
If they don't pick you to be on the dodge ball team? Kill them!
If the teacher gives you get a C on your test paper? Kill them!
If the other team beats your team? Kill them!
They passed a bill and don't know how to enforce it. It is a work in progress.
as if any one's individual feelings trump anyone else's
I think Eris mentioned something about that in this forum environment last month
it's political
it's personal
it's them
it's us too
I suspect it's going to have to reach it's own extreme before the pendulum comes swinging back
life is getting tougher
and more and more unfair
lies are being uncovered
honour's becoming a more extinct virtue
demonizing the other person becomes easier
we need someone to blame
or disempower
so we can feel less prostrate
it's easier to deflect our anger and frustration and indignation on others
and we feel the freedom to punish them
instead of taking care of our own business first
or
noticing how much like us, other people are
Plenty of things that I don't like, but I have to live with them and just vote my choice.
It's called voting and there is an opportunity to do so this November.
*begin rant*
I fucking hate it when people don't vote, yet they'll bitch and moan the other 364 days of the year about government functions, yet the one day they can do something about it, they blow it off to go buy the latest fucking blue ray or to go to starbucks to buy an overpriced fucking eurotrash coffee drink.
*descends from soap box*
If you don't like what they did, vote them the fuck out in November. Put them out on the street.
It's really just that easy.
here is one story, citing the threats: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/22948764/detail.html
Oh shit, I didn't turn in my "special health care" ballot in because it was under my tin foil hat.
And to be honest, I'm not even sure where I stand on this bill, opinion-wise, but people's reactions to this bill have me astounded.
