I pray - know - that you will be fine. You are a great guy - you only deserve the best life has to offer.
Take care - Gerry
Why would knowing that she cheated on you make you feel like less of a person? I hope you do not equate your self worth with being cheated on. People do shitty things like cheating because they have no hearts and don't care about how their actions affect other people. If they did care and found that their feelings for their partner were waning, they'd make a clean break before pursuing someone else.
People who cheat are the ones with low self esteem. They can't break up without having someone else to go to and have it set up prior to the split. How confident can they be? They have low morals and don't care about other people and you think YOU'RE the one that is worthless? No dear. You are the one who is aching over such a preventable, cruel act. You are the one with heart.
It IS her loss.
Life does have a way of working these things out in the end. Earlier this year I read a statistic in an article about cheating. Fewer than 2% of relationships that begin by cheating last a lifetime. There is a 98% chance that they will break up. It's probably only a matter of time.
Vindication comes from the respect your kids will show you for being that stand up guy. You'll most likely get it again after the ex's train wrecks.
And don't ever forget that to your friends and family (that includes us here at DS) you are special and you are important.
